We are a growing plumbing services company based in West Seattle, serving both residential and commercial customers throughout the Seattle region. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our accounting operations and support leadership with accurate, timely financial insights.
Job Summary
This role is ideal for an experienced, self-motivated Full Charge Bookkeeper who is comfortable handling the full cycle of accounting independently. You’ll thrive in a small-team environment and take ownership of financial processes—from daily transactions to month-end close and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
- Collaborate with a remote Home Office accounting team on:
- General ledger maintenance and journal entries
- Month-end and year-end close procedures
- Accruals, adjustments, and trial balance preparation
- Meeting established close deadlines
- Process payroll for employees, including wage calculations, tax withholdings, direct deposits, and quarterly/annual payroll tax filings
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Work with the Home Office accounting team to prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheet, profit & loss, and management reports
- Track fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory
- Assist with forecasting and variance analysis
- Coordinate with an outsourced firm to file sales tax, B&O returns, and other required compliance filings
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable state and federal regulations; maintain strong internal controls
- Maintain organized financial records and support audits as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience (or equivalent accounting role)
- Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software (Sage Intacct or similar experience a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial data
- Ability to work in-office in West Seattle (reliable transportation required)
