Position Summary: The Community Outreach Facilitator coordinates the promotion of The Great We Grow Program within the Town and Country and neighboring communities throughout Hillsborough County Florida. This outreach position’s major task is to publicize and promote programs, events, activities and opportunities offered by the Great We Grow Program and Champions for Children in order to recruit and sustain family participation. Responsibilities will include organizing events, workshops, and activities, and building strong relationships with community partners and agencies.
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Wage rate: $22.05 to $22.56 per hour (approx $43,000-$44,000/year)

TITLE: Community Outreach Specialist (Marketing)
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
This position reports to the Program Manager. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Builds and fosters positive relationships with prospective partners including civic, business, faith community, and other organizations or individuals to promote the Great We Grow Program.
- Cultivate and manage ongoing collaborative relationships with the Town and Country Great We Grow initiative and participating partners, early childhood, child welfare, behavioral health, legal, housing, and family serving community.
- Attend and participate in the Great We Grow Community of Practice meetings.
- Attend and participate in the Town and Country Great We Grow Partnership meetings.
- Lead and facilitate the monthly Town and Country Community Collaboration meetings.
- Engage and encourage parent/caregiver and child participation with the Great We Grow Program.
- Organize and attend community meetings and events, as necessary.
- Create and organize dissemination of outreach materials (flyers, press releases, etc.) as required.
- Utilize social media as a communication tool.
- Timely data entry into participant records and data collection systems.
- Adheres strictly to policies which ensure participant confidentiality.
- Participates in and supports the agency’s performance and quality improvement processes.
- Participates in outreach development and delivery of community events.
- Participates in related training and workshops.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education and experience: Associate degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with nonprofits and/or building community partnerships and demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for building strong communities and families and safe children in diverse, urban communities.
- Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy and engaging community partners.
- Professional, self-directed, follow-through on managing multiple projects and prompt responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, team-oriented, customer service focused, enjoys working and inspiring with others.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage but not required.
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Able to travel in the communities served; must have a reliable car, active auto insurance, good driving record, and valid Florida driver’s license.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; move materials up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population that Champions for Children serves.
- Must be able to successfully complete a Florida level 2 criminal background clearance, motor vehicle records check and drug screening.
