Role Description The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Oklahoma City, OK. This role is responsible for leading the design process from concept through completion, including programming, space planning, and development of interior layouts for commercial and institutional projects. The Senior Interior Designer collaborates with internal teams, clients, and vendors to select finishes, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), prepare detailed construction drawings, and ensure design solutions are functional, aesthetically cohesive, and aligned with project budgets and timelines. Daily responsibilities include reviewing project requirements, producing and revising design documentation, coordinating with architects and contractors, and overseeing implementation to maintain design integrity. The role may also involve mentoring junior designers, presenting design concepts to stakeholders, and supporting business development efforts with design proposals and presentations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Interior Design and FF&E selection, including finishes, furniture, and fixtures appropriate for commercial and institutional settings.
- Strong skills in Space Planning and Architecture-related coordination to create efficient, compliant, and user-focused interior environments.
- Experience producing and reviewing detailed Construction Drawings and documentation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field; professional certification or licensure (such as NCIDQ) is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar), as well as familiarity with building codes, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong project management abilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts clearly to clients and internal teams.
- Previous experience in a senior or lead interior design role, preferably in commercial or institutional environments, and the capacity to mentor and guide junior team members.
