This is a high-earning opportunity with uncapped commissions and total compensation ranging from $85,000 to $130,000 per year.

Champion Home Services is seeking an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and a passion for helping customers stay comfortable year-round. This is a high-earning opportunity with uncapped commissions and total compensation ranging from $85,000 to $130,000 per year.
What You Will Do
- Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, proposed solutions, and service details
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and local codes
- Maintain accurate records of services provided using company software or service tickets
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance tips, and energy efficiency options
- Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and installation teams as needed
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Technical Knowledge & Tools
- Understanding of HVAC systems: Heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration basics.
- Load calculation skills: Ability to size systems correctly (Manual J, Manual D).
- Product knowledge: Familiarity with brands, efficiency ratings (SEER, AFUE), and new technologies.
- Diagnostic tools: Multimeter, thermometer, pressure gauges (for demonstrations or troubleshooting).
- Basic installation knowledge: So you can explain processes confidently.
- Consultative selling approach: Focus on solving customer problems, not just pushing products.
- Upselling and cross-selling: Indoor air quality products, maintenance plans, smart thermostats.
- Presentation skills: Ability to explain benefits clearly and visually (using brochures, tablets, or software).
- Negotiation skills: Handle objections and close deals effectively.
- CRM proficiency: Track leads, follow-ups, and customer history.
- Active listening: Understand customer needs and pain points.
- Clear communication: Explain technical details in simple terms.
- Professional appearance & demeanor: Builds trust and credibility.
- Empathy: Show genuine concern for comfort and budget.
- Financing options: Be able to explain payment plans and rebates.
- ROI calculations: Show customers how energy-efficient systems save money over time.
- Local codes & regulations: Ensure compliance and avoid surprises.

- Adaptability: Handle different customer personalities and situations.
- 2 years of HVAC service experience
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors
- Available for rotating on-call and emergency shifts
- Bonus: HVAC trade school, NATE certification, experience with smart thermostats and high-efficiency systems
