Position Summary
The Health Insurance Sales Representative is responsible for promoting Champion Health Plan's Medicare Advantage products and guiding eligible individuals through the enrollment process. This role is focused on expanding membership through community outreach, educational events, provider partnerships, and relationship-building while delivering exceptional service to prospective and current members.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Educate Medicare beneficiaries on available health plan options and assist them in selecting the coverage that best meets their healthcare needs.
- Represent Champion Health Plan at health fairs, community events, provider offices, educational seminars, and other outreach activities throughout the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, medical groups, community organizations, brokers, and referral partners to support membership growth.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective members using the company's Zoho CRM platform.
- Conduct one-on-one consultations and group presentations on Champion Health Plan's Medicare Advantage benefits and services.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, supporting member retention, and maintaining ongoing relationships with current members.
- Meet established sales and enrollment goals while accurately documenting activities, leads, and production results.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop territory growth strategies and identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain current knowledge of Medicare regulations, CMS Marketing Guidelines, plan benefits, and Champion Health Plan policies through ongoing training.
- Ensure all marketing, sales, and enrollment activities comply with CMS regulations and Champion Health Plan compliance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active California Health Insurance License required.
- Current AHIP certification required.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Medicare Advantage, health plan, managed care, or insurance sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success building community relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Zoho preferred) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Manage sales administration tasks using Zoho (Customer Relationship Management) systems and Microsoft Office tools to track leads, follow-ups, and client information.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop strategies that attract new clients and retain existing ones through benefits administration and promotional activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, property casualty insurance, commercial insurance knowledge, and regulatory changes to provide accurate guidance to clients.
Experience
- Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales environments with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent communication abilities in both client interaction and team collaboration.
- Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Familiarity with insurance sales processes, including health insurance, life insurance, property casualty insurance, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and telemarketing techniques for outreach campaigns.
- Knowledge of insurance regulation standards such as HIPAA is preferred to ensure compliant client service delivery.
- Demonstrated customer service excellence with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly in a fast-paced environment.
