Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service at the front counter
- Assist customers in selecting products, offering product demos and upselling where appropriate
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with fresh inventory
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Manage stock levels through stocking and inventory checks, ensuring the sales floor remains inviting and well-maintained
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Support cashiering duties with basic math skills for transactions and change accuracy
- Promote store promotions and assist in retail sales efforts to meet or exceed sales goals
- Assist with basic grocery store functions if applicable, including checkout procedures and product placement
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
- Supervising experience or leadership skills to guide team members when needed
- Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills for engaging with customers and team members alike
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math principles
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and educate customers on features and benefits
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone
- Enthusiasm for upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales performance
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience working in a retail or grocery store environment is highly desirable
