Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Body Shop Porter to join our team! This is your "foot in the door" to the body shop world. As a Body Shop Porter / Apprentice, you'll support technicians, keep the shop running smoothly, and begin learning the skills needed to grow into a full Body Technician role.
Think of it as a part pit crew, part student, part future pro!
Responsibilities
- Safely move vehicles within the body shop, including parking, staging, and delivering vehicles as needed
- Perform general cleaning duties such as washing, vacuuming, and detailing vehicles to uphold high standards of presentation
- Assist with car wash procedures, including exterior washing and interior cleaning to prepare vehicles for service or delivery
- Support technicians by providing tools, parts, or supplies promptly to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain cleanliness of the work environment by sweeping, trash removal, and janitorial tasks
- Conduct buffing tasks when required, following safety guidelines and quality standards
- Wash and detail vehicles after repairs
- Drive company vehicles for various errands or transportation needs around the dealership premises
Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly, professional attitude
- Experience in car wash, detailing, buffing, or custodial work is preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform vehicle maintenance tasks efficiently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for driving duties within the dealership
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cleaning and vehicle handling
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in automotive repair or collision work ( experience is a plus, not required)
