Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to read and understand installation procedures from control diagrams, schematics, blueprints, specifications, and operating instructions for all types of instruments, control systems and control strategies.

  • Calibrate, test, install and repair instrumentations in the field and our factory.
  • Ability to perform loop checks in the field during startups and commissioning.
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
  • Repair or adjust equipment, or defective components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in watertight electrical equipment.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
  • Examine work orders and communicate with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
  • Consult with customers, supervisors, or engineers to plan layout of equipment or to resolve problems in system operation or maintenance.
  • Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
  • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, or suggestions for product improvements.
  • Develops scopes of work for I&C systems, networks and projects
  • Leads I&C design teams for medium and large projects
  • Specifies industrial fiber optic networks, systems and components
  • Designs SCADA network block diagrams
  • Select instrumentations as specified or required.
  • Develops P&IDs
  • Develops control strategies
  • Prepares ISA data sheets and calibration reports
  • Develops input/output point lists

Requirements And Qualifications

  • College degree or trade school certification
  • 5 years of Instrumentation & Controls experience
  • Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day
  • Advance problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Valid Driver’s license required
  • This position requires travel to local job sites
