Job Description
This position is responsible for safely providing preventative maintenance and repair support to our customers as well as maintenance support to our fast-paced corrugated manufacturing plant. Perform a variety of tasks that require manual labor and use of tools, machinery, and equipment utilizing both excellent mechanical skills and electrical/electronic skills. Must have knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, lubrication PLCs, A/C, D/C motors and drives, and schematics to achieve machine uptime metrics. Work positively with operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems and be engaged in preventative maintenance processes in assigned areas.
Duties and Responsibility
- Following all safety rules and practices
- Respond to calls for malfunctioning or non-working packaging machines
- Performing electrical, mechanical, and other repairs and installations as needed
- Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork
- Trouble-shooting and solving problems
- Inspect and test damaged machines and mark defective areas for repairs
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair or maintenance work
- Reassemble machine after the completion of repair using hand tools
- Record repair and maintenance information
- Assist with preventive maintenance.
- Assist with emergency maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.
- Assist with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other repairs and installations as needed.
- Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.
- Order Parts and Supplies.
Qualifications
- Ability to work with computers and various software for maintenance and repairs of packaging machines
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions,
- Ability to read diagrams
- Able to lift 50 pounds
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years’ work experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment
- Experience in the corrugated box industry a plus
- Mechanical aptitude
- Troubleshooting expertise
- Electrical knowledge
