We are a New Orleans-based company with an immediate commercial framing and composite decking installation opportunity in Morgan City, LA. We are also seeking a skilled and versatile Carpenter to join our construction and restoration team in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills across various trades, including carpentry, drywall, composite decking, and restoration. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from home improvement and commercial to complex restoration jobs, utilizing both traditional and modern techniques. The position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to on-site tasks. Candidates with experience installing Trex composite decking using hidden fasteners, and with a background in remodeling, are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Execute framing, trim carpentry, and drywall installation with precision
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Handle fixture installation, including doors, cabinets, and lighting fixtures
- Handyman jobs involving a variety of home repairs
- Install metal studs for interior framing projects and perform remodeling tasks (helpful, not required).
- Read simple blueprints accurately for various projects involving carpentry and construction work
- Perform heavy lifting safely during material handling and project assembly
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry best practices
Experience
- Proven experience in construction framing, carpentry, composite decking installation using hidden fasteners, or related trades
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and schematic reading
- A background in construction site management or the restoration industry is preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading helpful
- Prior experience in drywall installation, siding installation, or cabinet hanging is required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely is essential
- Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites
