About the Role
As a Utility Locating Laborer, you'll be an essential part of our team, responsible for safely and accurately identifying underground utilities. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn valuable skills and contribute to important infrastructure protection projects. Every day brings a variety of tasks, and you'll play a key role in ensuring safety on job sites.
What You'll Do
- Learn and perform utility locating: Master the use of specialized locating equipment (like a locator and sonde) to precisely identify underground lines such as gas, sanitary and storm utilities.
- Assist with site preparation: Help prepare job sites for safe and efficient utility locating
- Operate hand and power tools: Safely use various tools as needed for job site tasks.
- Load and unload materials: Efficiently manage equipment and supplies at job sites.
- Maintain safe work practices: Consistently adhere to all company safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with your team: Work effectively with supervisors and co-workers to achieve project goals.
- Communicate effectively: Clearly and respectfully interact with team members and customers.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Driver's License (Required): You'll be driving to various job sites.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor, lift materials, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability: Willingness to work overtime and weekends as projects require.
- Reliability: Able to pass a drug test and complete a background check.
- Team Player: A positive attitude and a commitment to respectful communication.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half for all hours over 40.
- Schedule: Full-time, year-round work with typical 8-10 hour shifts; overtime and weekends as needed.
