What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Energy Auditor position at Champaign County Regional Planning Commission?
This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/jobs/13045503 The Traveling Energy Auditor will travel extensively (up to 75% time each month) to Community Action Agencies across the state of Illinois, providing services to agencies which lack staff in building performance roles, operating specialized tools and equipment for the purposes of improved building performance, energy efficiency, and client health and safety, and training Community Action Agency staff in the field in how to improve building performance through the determination of proper energy retrofits. Time not spent in the field will be spent at the Training Center located in Champaign, IL.
- At least 2 years experience in construction, building inspection, cost estimation, housing rehabilitation, etc. or a combination of training and experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Have good working knowledge of construction methods and building materials.
- Must obtain the Illinois Energy Auditor Training Program
- Must obtain the BPI Building Science Principles Certificate within the first month of employment.
- Must have a current and valid Illinois drivers license.
- Math skills
- Basic knowledge of home performance
- Basic knowledge of building science
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Suite
