What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Trainer - Career Growth Opportunity position at Champ's Dog House?
Turn Your Passion for Dogs Into a Career!
Champ’s Dog House is growing, and we're looking for motivated, passionate individuals who want to build a rewarding career in professional dog training.
You don't need to be an experienced dog trainer to be the right fit. We're looking for people who have experience working with dogs or other animals, enjoy helping people, and are excited to learn a proven training system.
Whether you've worked in dog daycare, boarding, grooming, veterinary care, animal shelters, or already have some training experience, this could be your opportunity to take the next step.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
At Champ's, we believe great trainers are developed through education, hands-on experience, mentorship, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants to teach their own methods. We're looking for someone who wants to learn, embrace, and grow within the Champ's training system.
Our programs focus on helping dogs and their owners build better relationships through clear communication, consistency, and practical training techniques.
What You'll Do
- Learn and implement Champ's established training methods and programs.
- Conduct private dog training sessions both in clients' homes and at our facilities.
- Work with puppies, adolescent dogs, and adult dogs on obedience, manners, and behavior-related challenges within your training qualifications.
- Educate owners and help them confidently reinforce their dog's training.
- Track training progress and communicate with clients and the Champ's team.
- Participate in ongoing education, coaching, and professional development.
- Represent Champ's Dog House with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with dogs or animals in a professional or volunteer setting is preferred.
- A genuine passion for dogs and helping people.
- Willingness to learn and follow an established training system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependability, self-motivation, and a professional attitude.
- A desire to build a long-term career in dog training.
- Ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clients' homes.
Previous professional dog training experience is a plus, but not required. The right attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to connect with dogs and people are what matter most.
Compensation & Support
This is a commission-based position with opportunities to grow as you develop your skills, experience, and client base.
One of the biggest advantages of working with Champ's is that we handle marketing, incoming inquiries, sales, and booking coordination, allowing our trainers to focus on what they do best: training dogs and helping their owners.
You'll also receive:
- Training in Champ's methods and programs.
- Access to established training materials and resources.
- Administrative and client acquisition support.
- Opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibilities.
- The backing of an established dog care and training business.
Who Would Thrive Here?
Someone who loves dogs, enjoys working with people, is coachable, and wants more than just another job.
We're looking for individuals who take pride in learning, welcome feedback, and want to become exceptional professional dog trainers.
If you're ready to turn your experience with animals into a career with real growth potential, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and tell us about your experience with dogs and why you're interested in becoming part of the Champ's training team!
