- Duties and Responsibilities
- Copy cataloging. Downloads and processes bibliographic records from OCLC or other source and to make available for use in the integrated library system.
- Serial Management. Does check-in, processes and manages the library’s periodical subscriptions.
- Bibliographic record maintenance. Creates, converts and maintains bibliographic and other library records for use in the integrated library system.
- Interlibrary loan. Processes and tracks requests to/from other libraries via interlibrary loan services.
- Circulation services. Provides circulation services for the entire collection.
- Stack supervision. Monitors condition of library stacks, equipment and supplies as necessary.
- Computer and equipment maintenance. Troubleshoots equipment problems and hardware and software problems of computers. Performs basic maintenance.
- Ready reference. Provides ready reference to patrons, refers more complex questions to librarians.
- Cashiering. Collects and reconciles library fines and fees.
- Supervision. Trains and supervises student workers.
- Performs basic office duties such as filing, word processing, and answering phone.
- Documents procedures and guidelines based on practices and policies.
- Maintains and reports statistical information on circulation.

- High school diploma
- Experience in a library supporting activities in public service, circulation, stacks, and building maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels of the university.
- Knowledge of the interrelatedness of various library operations and the principles and practices of supervision.
- Mastery of an integrated library system to perform a variety of circulation functions.
- Ability to use a computer, typewriter, adding machine, audiovisual equipment, photocopier, and microform machine
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
- Ability to meet deadlines.

- This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Twenty-five hours per week (Monday-Sunday) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and have a varying schedule when required
