Commercial Lines Insurance Service Representative (CSR) -- in a family-owned agency

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Required: High School diploma – Preferred 4 Year Collage Degree

EXPERIENCE: 5 Years minimum Experience – Licensed Insurance Agent
Experience with a multi-company Agency. Strong understanding of Workers Compensation Insurance in Multi States.

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $65000 --plus Full Benefits Package – Commission Income potential Also available, Bonus included

SKILLS: Computer aptitude including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Typing, Good
Customer Relations, Ability to be detailed, Ability to manage multiple tasks,
Ability to sell by making coverage recommendations to customers. Takes Pride in Quality of work, Knowledge of Applied and TAM an asset. Excellent time management skills. Product knowledge. Ability to analyze risk vs. Coverage.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Office Only, temperature-controlled environment. 7.5 hour shift with 1 hour lunch
PHYSICAL: Includes sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms to operate office machinery, including keyboard and mouse. Must have full use of vision to perceive depth, read, and see a computer screen.

MENTAL: Strong English language skills and basic math skills are required. Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately within prescribed timeframes.

LICENSE: Must be a License Insurance Agent

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Renew accounts within your scope of responsibility.

Ensure the accuracy of the accounts.

Obtain expiration list to Market Renewals as Needed 60 days in advance from Effective Date

Serve as positive liaison between agency and its insureds (customers). Be mindful the insured is the person who is responsible for the agency’s being in business.

We are a service-oriented organization, each position is responsible for assisting with answering mainline phones.

Obtain information from the insured (customer) to complete applications and order currently valued loss runs.

CSR is responsible for securing all renewal information reviewing for limits, coverage, exposures, etc.

Follow the Commercial Lines Procedures Manual.

Quote new business with Producer-provided information.

Complete applications for new business with other carriers and forward them to the company for a quotation or quote online.

Provide customer support, including handling client and company inquiries.

Type proposals and summaries for new, prospective, and current customers.

Process commercial lines’ daily mail, including handling mail that needs immediate attention. Process mail within 3 days of receipt.

Use Activity screen to manage outstanding endorsements and policies and all customer/client activities. All actions pertaining to any insured must be documented in Applied.

Issue certificates, binders, vehicle ID cards and invoices using system for new or existing business. Issue forms for cancellations. Process requests from client.

Enter commercial line policies in the computer. Update as needed.

Review and update computer screens when policies are received: invoice

Compare renewal with expiring policies.

Copy, file, and fax.

Return phone calls with status update by end of the business day.

Maintain continuing education requirements and active producer license status.

Attend client calls with Producer as needed and meet with company reps.

Function as backup for other CSRs as needed.

Assist with accounts receivable / collections as requested by Administrative Assistant within 24 hours.

Check daily follow up activity list, internet, interoffice email and respond accordingly.

Process claims (via Accord form, online or by phone).

Keep current with insurance agency industry trends.

Communication:

With Owners: Via email, fax, Text, or phone. The goal is to have Owner handle situations as soon as possible.

With Supervisor: Communicate any technical or other problems/obstacles with accomplishing job duties.

With Management: Inform management immediately of any possible E&O issues.

Perform other tasks and duties assigned by management.

MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE
Applicable policies renewals are submitted 30 days prior to expiration for a quote
Paperwork handled within 72 hours
Applications are submitted within 3 business days of receipt by prospect or producer
No complaints from insureds to management
Maintain a renewal retention of 90% or higher
Information in insured’s accounts is accurate and complete
No more than 5 occurrences of overdue work within a review period
