Deburring/Finishing Technician
Chamberlain is looking for a skilled Deburring/Finishing Technician to perform a variety of finishing and surface preparation operations to support the manufacture of precision metal parts and components.
Responsibilities include:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions to understand the desired shape and size of a finished product
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to grind, smooth, and buff parts to remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections
- Setup and operate machinery to tumble, sandblast, or laser mark parts as needed
- Inspect and measure parts using micrometers, indicators, comparators and other inspection equipment
- Prepare and package materials for shipping to vendors and customers
- Track and document work performed in the company’s electronic tracking system
- Interact constructively with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety policies and quality system procedures
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
- Perform related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing or machining experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions
- Previous experience using dimensional inspection equipment preferred
- General mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift objects, walk within the facility to obtain supplies, and move products with and/or without the use of equipment
Work Environment
Will regularly be exposed to excessive noise and hazards associated with working around moving machinery. May also be exposed to airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, metal chips and shavings, oils and cutting fluids. Climate-controlled environment protected by iWAVE air purification measures.
Safety glasses and hearing protection required when on the manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may occasionally be required.
Expected Hours of Work
Flexible work schedule Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00am – 6:00pm. Overtime is regularly available, half-day Saturdays occasionally required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
