What You Will Be Accountable For
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines capable of processing large volumes of structured and unstructured healthcare data.
- Ingest, integrate, transform, and standardize complex datasets from EHR/EMR systems, pharmacy claims, medical claims, billing systems, and clinical data sources.
- Work with healthcare coding and terminology standards including ICD-10, CPT, NDC, RxNorm, LOINC, and SNOMED-CT.
- Develop reliable and reusable data structures supporting healthcare analytics, reporting, and predictive modeling.
- Apply statistical techniques and machine-learning algorithms to solve complex healthcare and operational business problems.
- Develop predictive models supporting use cases such as patient risk stratification, readmission analysis, healthcare utilization, and pharmacy supply-chain optimization.
- Build production-grade machine-learning pipelines encompassing data processing, feature preparation, model training, inference, validation, and performance monitoring.
- Deploy and productionize machine-learning models for integration with healthcare applications, analytical databases, and downstream business processes.
- Participate in MLOps processes supporting model deployment, retraining, monitoring, reproducibility, and validation.
- Monitor model performance and identify changes or drift within healthcare and clinical datasets.
- Build interactive dashboards and self-service analytical solutions that translate complex data and model outputs into meaningful business insights.
- Partner with technical teams, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate healthcare challenges into scalable analytical solutions.
- Ensure healthcare data solutions follow appropriate data quality, security, governance, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Develop clear technical documentation for data pipelines, models, analytical processes, and production solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another highly quantitative discipline.
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, data science, machine learning, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with healthcare, pharmacy, medical claims, clinical, or related healthcare datasets.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python.
- Strong Python experience utilizing analytical and machine-learning libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and complex data transformations.
- Experience architecting data solutions within Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards and medical terminology such as RxNorm, LOINC, SNOMED-CT, ICD-10, CPT, and NDC.
- Demonstrated experience developing, validating, and productionizing statistical or machine-learning models.
- Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience with Apache Spark and/or Databricks.
- Experience with MLflow, AWS SageMaker, or comparable MLOps/model lifecycle technologies.
- Experience implementing model monitoring, retraining, and validation processes.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software deployment practices.
- Experience developing healthcare dashboards or self-service analytics using Tableau, Databricks Dashboards, Power BI, or comparable BI platforms.
