Overview
Serving the Cape Fear region for over 30 years, Chamber Music Wilmington (CMW) is a small non-profit arts organization that brings four world class chamber music groups to Wilmington each year (September- May). CMW’s contracted concert musicians also do an education workshop in the New Hanover County Schools the day after each of our four season concerts (held on Sunday at UNCW’s Beckwith Hall). CMW occasionally organizes extra events, including free community concerts, salon concerts and fund raisers. CMW is led by a (part time) artistic director (Oskar, Espina Ruiz) and this (part- time). Our working board of directors actively conducts CMW’s activities-(marketing, fundraising, donor and audience engagement, program development, grants management and financial oversight) with the professional assistance of the business manager.
CMW’s ideal Operations Director is an independent contractor with experience serving local arts organizations in thier operations and business activities.
Position Requirements
· Willingness to work 25% of a full time equivalent, by contract, with variable hours
· Strong organization and communication skills
· Strong interpersonal skills, a great team player who can work with Board Committees and volunteers throughout the organization
· Marketing experience (preferably in the arts)
· Experience and competency with technical applications including Google business services, QuickBooks, graphic design and publishing software such as Canva, Microsoft office suite, social media platforms, web hosted platforms and Constant Contact
· A BS in a related field and at least two years of related experience (full or part time)
· A demonstrated commitment to Wilmington and its arts community
· Salary- $15,000 to $20,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Summary of Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and managing internal and external communications (via email, mail, flyers, brochures, program materials, donor letters, website and social media posts), developing marketing materials, preparing reports, working with Treasurer and accountant on finances and budgets, managing pre-concert and day-of- concert activities, coordinating ticket sales with UNCW, and being a central point of contact for board members, donors, audiences, and community partners.
Pay: $15,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
