Tufting Operator 2 – Tufting Operations
Location: Hill Rd. Facility
Department: Operations – Tufting
Schedule: On-site (Not Remote) Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm
Position Summary
The Tufting Operator 2 is an experienced tufting team member responsible for operating a tufting machine, monitoring product quality, and guiding assigned personnel such as Creeler 1, Creeler 2, Mender 1, Mender 2, and Tufting Operator 1 during production.
Responsibilities
Confirm product specifications during production.
Obtain weight checks for the first roll of every order and all rolls ending in “0,” or as required.
Hang, tie, or splice fiber into the creel.
Rotate small and large fiber tubes to maximize creel loads.
Package dunnage and fiber skids.
Assist with decreeling machines and removing spent fiber tubes.
Assist with identifying non-conforming fibers or materials.
Identify streaks, high lines, low lines, loops, missing ends, or other turf deficiencies.
Use mending gun to repair turf rolls.
Operate the rollup.
Operate the tufting machine without direct supervision.
Ensure order requirements are met.
Post transactions in NAV.
Doff and label finished rolls.
Notify maintenance and supervisor of any mechanical or product issues.
Notify Quality Control of any product deficiencies.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications
Experience
Mastery of the Creeler 2 position.
Mastery of the Mender 2 position.
Mastery of the Tufting Operator 1 position.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and others.
Receptive to constructive feedback.
Ability to lead team efforts to meet short-term production goals.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to analyze practical problems and work through a variety of variables.

Work Environment
Work is performed inside the tufting department at the Hill Rd. facility.
This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to talk, hear, stand for long periods, walk, use hands/fingers, and reach with arms.
May be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
