Positions open for 2nd Shift CNC Operator

(3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)

In this role you will:

  • Operate and maintain CNC lathes and mills to fabricate a variety of components used in our products.
  • Perform routine equipment/tooling adjustments, CNC tool offset changes or replacement of cutting tools or inserts.
  • Record production and quality assurance data, part numbers, quantities, lot numbers, and inspection results

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ready equipment for operation by powering up/Initializing control and tool/slide positions
  • Selecting/activating CNC operating program identified in work instructions.
  • Position and secure workpieces in machine/fixture and cycle machine.
  • Observes and listens to machines during operation to detect common problems - worn or damaged cutting tools or machine malfunctions.
  • Performs any auxiliary/manual operations specified in work instructions, filing or grinding to remove burrs or sharp edges, cleaning, or attachment of peripheral parts.
  • Inspects workpiece for conformance to dimensional specifications using common measuring devices - scales, calipers, “Go/No-Go” gages.
  • Utilizing simple engineering drawings and inspects for conformance to other established specifications such as appearance criteria.
  • Performs routine equipment/tooling adjustments, such as CNC tool offset changes or replacement of cutting tools or inserts, as required.
  • Records production and quality assurance data, part numbers, quantities, lot numbers, and inspection measurements/results.
  • Immediately notifies supervisor of any discrepancies regarding product, equipment, work instructions, or records.
  • Performs all job activities in accordance with training, work instructions, and established company procedures.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel, grip and/or squeeze; and reach with hands and arms.

· The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and may occasionally be required to sit or stoop.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
