Janitor Part-time Commercial

Job Description: Under the direction of the project manager, this position is responsible for performing janitorial duties for office buildings and related areas. Quality customer service will always be provided to the client. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Responsibilities and duties of this position include:

Essential functions

• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and machine scrubbing of flooring and stairs
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms
• Clean sinks, countertops, toilets, and bathroom stall walls.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas as necessary.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
• Collect recyclable materials and take to the appropriate area to be sorted.
• Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
• Clean windowsills, windows, and stairwells.
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Maintain and use cleaning equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times.
• Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals.
• Report any damage to cleaning equipment.
• Report maintenance needs to the project manager or supervisor.
• Willing to work hours when needed
• Other Duties as assigned or as needed

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to follow oral instructions
• Ability to work effectively with a team.
• Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) or willing to learn.
• Good client/customer service skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have previous knowledge of performance-based cleaning or the willingness to learn

Must pass a background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty (50) pounds utilizes a team lift. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
