Grounds Maintenance (47907)

Job Description:
Responsible for performing grounds maintenance services for commercial customers under supervision of the Commercial grounds maintenance supervisor. Services include mowing, weeding, edging, and blowing debris using gas powered and manual lawn care equipment. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
•    Perform grounds maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor
•    Safely, transport, operate, and secure grounds maintenance equipment for its intended purposes
•    Work the hours and schedule as defined by the supervisor
•    Provide outstanding customer service
•    Operate gas powered mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing equipment as trained and directed by the supervisor
•    Perform equipment safety checks prior to use
•    Prepare the equipment for next day’s use
•    Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of grounds maintenance equipment as assigned the supervisor.
•    Promote a positive relationship with the onsite customer.
•    Use personal protective equipment when performing job duties
•    Maintain all safety standards as set forth in the agency safety manual and required by the supervisor
•    Report Directly to the Commercial Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
•    Other duties as assigned. 
This job has different activities during different seasons and at times you may be assigned duties which have not been clearly stated.

•    Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
•    Ability to work effectively alone or with a team.
•    Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
•    Basic knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment operation and upkeep
•    Good customer service skills
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills
 

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Must be able to pass a background check.
•    Previous Grounds Maintenance experience preferred
•    Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty (50) pounds utilizes a team lift. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
