Role Description This is a part-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX. The Personal Trainer will coach members through personalized and small-group training sessions, ensuring proper technique, safety, and progression. This role will design or adapt training plans, track member progress, and provide clear, encouraging feedback. The Personal Trainer will also help onboard new members, conduct assessments, and answer questions about training schedules and goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing the training space, maintaining a clean and organized gym environment, collaborating with the team on programming and member experience, and supporting community-building activities and events.
Qualifications
- Strong coaching skills, including the ability to demonstrate movements, cue proper form, and adjust workouts to different fitness levels.
- Experience designing or implementing strength and conditioning programs, preferably in a small-group or semi-private setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, motivate members, and create an inclusive, supportive environment.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and time management, including punctuality for sessions and consistent follow-through.
- Comfort using basic digital tools for scheduling, member communication, and progress tracking.
- Relevant fitness certification (e.g., CPT, CSCS, or similar) or equivalent practical coaching experience; willingness to pursue additional education is a plus.
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe.
- Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on member needs.
