Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
- Perform repairs using welding techniques, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs to resolve issues efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs.
- Manage facilities maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and general handyman duties to uphold property standards.
- Operate tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to test electrical circuits and components.
- Supervise or assist with projects involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or other automation systems when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant or client requests promptly and professionally.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors during larger repair or renovation projects to ensure timely completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or handyman roles within residential or manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience; familiar with schematics and technical diagrams.
- Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively; experience with residential painting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and understanding programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance management; ability to document work accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and customer interactions.
- Supervising or leadership experience is preferred for coordinating team efforts on maintenance projects.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals confidently.
- Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
