Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Co-Founder Level) at a start-up company in Houston, TX. As a Co-Founder and Lead Engineer, you will architect, build, and scale the entire product ecosystem from backend infrastructure to frontend interfaces and mobile integrations. You will be responsible for:
* Designing scalable backend systems
* Building intelligent AI agents integrated into business workflows
* Leading front-end architecture and user experience implementation
* Deploying production-grade cloud-native infrastructure
* Driving technical strategy across the full product lifecycle
This role requires deep ownership, product thinking, and hands-on engineering across AI systems, distributed architecture, and full-stack development.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Architecture & Engineering：
* Design and implement scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL
* Architect and maintain distributed systems using Kafka for event-driven workflows
* Build modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and HTML5
* Design RESTful APIs and real-time data pipelines
* Lead system design decisions including authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant SaaS architecture
AI Agent Design & Integration：
* Architect and integrate AI-powered agents using large language models (LLMs)
* Design AI-driven workflows for:
* Order management
* Inventory analytics
* Customer support automation
* Sales and profitability insights
* Build structured prompt engineering systems and dynamic function-calling architectures
* Implement AI data pipelines that transform transactional data into actionable intelligence
* Develop conversational AI interfaces embedded within the SaaS platform
* Integrate AI services with backend APIs and internal business logic
* Ensure AI performance monitoring, logging, fallback handling, and reliability
* Optimize token usage, cost efficiency, and response latency in production
Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering：
* Design and deploy cloud-native architecture on AWS
* Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
* Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
* Ensure system scalability, fault tolerance, and security compliance
* Optimize cloud cost and performance for high-availability SaaS systems
Leadership & Technical Ownership：
* Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational pain points into technical solutions
* Mentor engineers and guide technical direction
* Define coding standards, architecture patterns, and development workflows
* Align technical execution with product and growth strategy
Qualifications
* 8 years of experience in full-stack software development
* Strong experience with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL
* Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture
* Experience with AWS cloud architecture and distributed systems
* Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience designing scalable SaaS systems with multi-role user models
* Proven experience integrating AI/LLM-based systems into production applications
* Experience building event-driven systems using Kafka or similar tools
* Strong understanding of API design, database optimization, and system scalability
* Demonstrated leadership in managing technical projects end-to-end
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience designing AI agents with structured workflows and function calling
* Knowledge of AI model deployment strategies and cost optimization
* Experience building conversational AI interfaces
* Experience in POS systems or food service technology platforms
* Familiarity with data analytics and reporting system design
* Experience building mobile applications (Android/iOS)
Equity & Compensation
* Equity share of 5% – 10%
