Life Net Services operates a Residential Treatment Facility for adolescent males ages , 12-17. Our mission is to provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment where youth with mental health, behavioral, and/or substance use challenges can heal, grow, and learn the skills necessary for successful transition into adulthood.
Position Summary
The Group Home Worker is responsible for providing 24-hour residential support and supervision to adolescent males. This position ensures safety, implements individualized treatment plans, teaches life skills, and promotes positive behavior. Staff will work closely with the clinical teams to meet regulatory and program requirements under NC Level III Residential Treatment standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and maintain resident safety, structure, and accountability in a therapeutic environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies consistent with residents’ Person-Centered Plans (PCPs).
- Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, meal preparation, chores, medication supervision, and transportation.
- Facilitate and model independent living skills, coping strategies, and social skills development.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and provide input regarding residents’ progress.
- Accurately document resident progress, interventions, and incidents in accordance with DHHS and Medicaid requirements.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques when necessary, following NC Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or approved de-escalation methods.
- Ensure compliance with all NC service regulations
- Support residents in educational, recreational, and community-based activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold resident rights at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Experience: At least one year of experience working with adolescents with mental health/behavioral disorders in a residential or therapeutic setting (required by NC regulations).
- Certifications/Training (must obtain or have upon hire):
- CPR/First Aid
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or comparable de-escalation training
- Medication Administration training
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills
- Valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass fingerprint-based background check and drug screening.
