Chai Preschool is recruiting an Assistant Director to join our team. We seek an early care and education professional with compassion, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with progressive programming and working with children and staff strengths. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director to provide leadership and support to the Chai staff, families, and children as well as developing curriculum and program quality.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Site Supervisor Permit or Lead Teacher Permit
- Thorough knowledge of early education and care principles as well as a solid background in developmentally appropriate practice
- A committed to working with families and community members
- Experience in an early childhood education supervisory or management role
- Strong administrative background, keen organizational skills, and business acumen
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Experience in teaching in an early childhood program at a head teacher or comparable position
- Physical demands of this position are the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
Responsibilities:
Maintain consistent communication in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
Plan holiday celebrations and school-wide events
Hire enrichment teachers
Welcome children and families during drop off and pick up times
Provides comprehensive support services to the ECE Directors that ensures a professional, responsive and effective experience with the organization as a whole.
Displays engaging interpersonal skills including the ability to think and act strategically, provide sound judgment, positive and energetic attitude.
Provide systematic and dependable follow-up, as well as a high level of organization and preparedness
Preparing reports (student licensing forms, staff licensing folders, immunization records.).
Administrative tasks as needed (calendars, schedules, program changes)
Assign in-house coverages or find substitutes when needed.
Cover Breaks as needed
Tuition and drop-in billing
Maintain and update preschool calendar for events and staff meetings.
Covering classes (as needed)
Preparing Payroll
Arranging and invoicing enrichment teachers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
