Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant or an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our dental team in providing high-quality care to patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office, must be patient-oriented, quality driven and have high ethical standards. We expect the right person to be able to maintain a fast paced, productive (but not crazy or overwhelming) schedule and make an immediate contribution in our office. Most importantly, we are looking for a problem solver who can think critically to accomplish the daily challenges of performing clinical dentistry.
We are a technology driven, progressive private (not corporate) practice in a recently remodeled state of the art East Side facility. We have a focus on comprehensive care and put simply, we treat patients well!
This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Take and dental radiographs (X-rays) following established safety standards.
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical information.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and postoperative care instructions.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks as needed, including impressions and model preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in Eaglesoft software is highly desirable but not required.
- CEREC proficiency is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a busy practice setting.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred.
