Position Description

Chaffey College is seeking applicants to provide instruction in the non-credit Phlebotomy Technician program. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College and California Department of Public Health minimum qualifications for instructors of this training (below). Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview. Evaluation of applicants will start immediately, and the position is open until filled.

This role involves developing and delivering didactic and clinical instruction, supervising students in an instructional capacity in the clinical setting, ensuring all State instructional and record-keeping requirements are met, developing and monitoring clinical schedules, collaborating with and coordinating the work of supplemental instructional presenters, participating in student orientations, and arranging for State certification examinations. The ideal candidate will also meet all of the desirable qualifications below allowing the individual to serve as a program director with responsibilities related to: operation and administration of the program, ensuring quality of the instruction, ensuring instructional presenter qualifications and expectations of instructional quality are met, arranging for clinical site assignments, and ensuring continued program renewal including the preparation and submission of program renewal materials.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience; OR 

• Associate degree and six years of professional experience; OR 

• The equivalent; AND

• Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
