Full-time, 30-40 hours a week, hourly, Monday-Friday, Alternating weekends and holidays, no call.

Admissions Manager provides day to day management and participation in the admissions office. Including, but not limited to functionality, scheduling, supervising, contributing to the admission process, coordinating and communicating between other leadership positions and departments. The manager is responsible for supervising all Chadron Hospital Representatives in the general Chadron Hospital Inpatient, Outpatient, and the Emergency Department Admitting Department areas. The manager is to ensure that patient information is collected in a professional manner and adhere to all CCH&HS Policies and Procedures. Admission’s Manager is to be trained and proficient on all Admission’s job shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for all operations of the Admissions Department.
- Responsible for providing monthly accuracy and productivity goals to staff and reporting results.
- Responsible to finalize monthly work schedule and encourage self-governance of the schedule.
- Refers patient to Business Office when financial arrangements need to be made.
- Responsible to prepare timecards and hour approvals for payroll function.
- Responsible for absence coverage as well as rotated weekend shifts.
- Responsible for ordering, maintaining adequate quantity of forms, charts, supplies, and assembling patient admission packets and admission’s supplies.
- Responsible to keep admissions staff notified of changes.
- Interviews applicants for open admission positions.
- Responsible for Annual Quality Assurance Reporting.
- Completes employee training documentation and monitor ongoing employee in-service.
- Preventative approach to workflow problems, detecting problems and research solutions.
- Monitoring workflow processes, reviewing those processes, find deficiencies and assist in implementation of solutions.
- Responsible to cross train for Admissions Representative.
- Registers arriving patients for outpatient/inpatient/emergency services.
- Verifies patient’s legal name and correct spelling.
- Inputs patient information via admissions software program.
- Obtains necessary signature of consent for treatment and insurance forms.
- Prepares patient identification arm bands and places band on patient when appropriate.
- Make patients aware of hospital policies and procedures, to include Privacy Policy and Financial Assistance.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of telephone console.
- Has a complete working knowledge of; extension identification, business, clinical and departmental functions, location of various hospital departments and service areas, general hospital procedures and policies, along with the names of administrative, departmental and supervisory personnel.
- Has complete understanding of admission office role in the event of a local disaster and demonstrates ability to admit patients in accordance with disaster plans.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality of customer and hospital information
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Management experience preferred. Two years pervious admissions/office experience preferred.
