The Chabot - Las Positas Community College District is seeking a PT Instructor, Technical Theater for Chabot College.  The Chabot College Theater Arts Department invites applications for a part-time, adjunct Technical Theater Instructor. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, student-centered instruction in technical theater and contribute to the vibrant and diverse theater community at Chabot College. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview. Evaluation of application materials will start immediately assignments are open until filled.  Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach the course that leads to the construction and painting of the sets for Chabot College Theater productions. Teaching involves safely guiding inexperienced students through the use of shop tools and construction practices during the build of a show. The Chabot Theater Arts Department typically produces one straight play in the fall and a musical in the spring, as well as a 45 minutes original play for young audiences. 2.  Part-time faculty have responsibilities in regards to their classroom assignment, evaluation of students, curriculum, student advising, professional development, holding office hours, and any assignment-specific needs. 3. Participation in program and subject area improvement tasks such as creating and assessment of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), program review, and curriculum development.  Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for disciplines on this list are any bachelor’s degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience. Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom. Applicants applying under the “Equivalent” provision must provide details that explain at time of application how their academic preparation is the equivalent of the degree listed above. Desirable Qualifications:  1. College-level teaching experience in Technical Theater;   2. Demonstrated an understanding of the process of completing the build for a theater production;   3.
