The Chabot - Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Part-Time Instructor, Film Production for Chabot College’s Filmmaking program adjunct pool. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Film Studies with an emphasis in Film Production. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach day, evening and weekend courses offered in Screenwriting, Film Production, Editing, Cinematography, and Documentary Filmmaking; 2. Assignment includes creating a syllabus, teaching the course, evaluating students and supporting student film submissions to the Chabot College Film & Animation Festival; 3. Participate in supporting students’ educational planning and transfer opportunities; 4. Participate in the development and furthering of departmental and college goals through course and program development and student engagement. Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Film/Cinema and Media Studies, Film, Television, and Media Studies, Drama/Theater, Mass Communication OR Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s degree in Visual Studies, Media Studies, English, or Communication OR the equivalent. Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom. Applicants applying under the “Equivalent” provision must provide details that explain at time of application how their academic preparation is the equivalent of the degree listed above.  Desirable Qualifications:
  1.  Recent industry experience in Film Production preferred;   2.  Extensive experience using Canon Cinema Cameras, Grip Equipment, Lights, and Audio Equipment;   3.  Experience teaching Video Editing, VR Video Production and After Effects.
