What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Insurance Agent position at Chabert Insurance of Baton Rouge?
If you're selling insurance for a captive agency right now, you already know the problem. One carrier, one rate, and nothing to say when it goes up. We don't have that problem. We're independent, with multiple national and regional carriers like Progressive, Geico, and SageSure.
And you keep getting paid on the business you write. Renewal commissions here don't stop after year one.
You'll also have a real service team behind you. They handle the billing calls, policy changes, renewals, and carrier headaches after the sale. Your job is to sell. Their job is to keep clients happy so you can go find the next one.
About us: The Chabert name has been in Louisiana insurance since 1977. Our Baton Rouge office has won Best of Baton Rouge two years running, and we're growing.
What you'll do:
- Quote and close home, auto, and flood insurance for new clients
- Work leads that come into the agency and build your own referral sources
- Hand finished clients to the service team, then get back on the phone
What we need:
- Experience in Sales
- A P&C license is a big plus. If you're sharp but not licensed yet, we'll help you get there.
- You're comfortable on the phone. Most of this job is talking to people.
Pay: $45,000 to $75,000 expected first year. Base salary plus uncapped commission, plus renewals that build every year you're here.
