Chabad Center of Northwest NJ is looking for a passionate and nurturing Afternoon Teacher for our Pre-K program in Rockaway, NJ! Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage Pre-K students during afternoon program hours in a safe, structured setting
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, crafts, and lessons for early childhood learners
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding daily activities and student progress
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to ensure program consistency and quality
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with Pre-K or early childhood age groups preferred
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for young children
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to afternoon scheduling requirements
- High school diploma required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education a plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet state childcare regulations
