This position is responsible for leading activities associated with CH Guenther’s packaging category. This position will assist and support the Category’s sourcing, procurement, supplier performance, quality performance, costing & pricing, continuous improvement projects, and value performance across the supply chain in the direct support of CH Guenther & Son, her manufacturing assets, and her operating divisions. Duties and Responsibilities: Category Management: 40% 1. Responsible for managing and resolving problems within packaging category as needed Support cost estimates, price forecasts, and budgeted financial results. Provide support for obtaining vendor and operational alignment in the execution of marketing and sales initiatives. Support identifying suppliers in accordance to strategy and facilitating key supply relationships Project Management: 40% Responsible for identification and execution of cost savings projects and continuous improvements efforts: Package integrity Structural materials Machining properties Supply chain improvements Responsible for identification and implementation of accretive sustainable packaging solutions. Responsible for develop process to identify and prioritize proposed projects Subject Matter Expertise: 20% Provide support for guiding company packaging excellence through technical expertise Develop packaging standards, specifications and best practices Coordinate packaging performance and qualification testing Perform root-cause analysis and problem solving to issues with current packaging and process Provide technical expertise to achieve resolution of issues through knowledge of the company’s manufacturing and packaging needs Responsible for developing and executing company packaging commercialization process Cross functional involvement Data management Structural integrity Responsible for being company’s liaison on industry trends and regulations Responsible for maintain relationships with vendors to identify improvement opportunities Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications: · Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or Bachelor’s degree in related field. Experience: · Minimum of 5 years of Packaging R&D experience. · Experience with corrugate, plastics, and films. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Applied knowledge of packaging structures, barriers, and properties required Applied knowledge of packaging machining capabilities preferred Demonstrated analytical and technical problem solving skills required Flexibility and adaptive to a rapidly changing environment. Cross-functional project management skills required Strong Excel-based PC analytic skills required Travel- ~25% or as required Working Conditions and Physical Effort: · Work involves light exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise. · Moderate physical effort required such as standing, sitting, and walking in and around the office; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; reaching, climbing, and kneeling as needed; utilizing fine dexterity, the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette. · Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. The salary range for this role is: $101,023.00 - $189,457.00 Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location. C.H.
