The Region Sales Manager will be responsible for building profitable sales for the assigned region. Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with assigned accounts using a consultative selling approach. Identifies, develops and establishes sales and profit opportunities aligned with CHG manufacturing facilities. This position is also responsible for managing all aspects of the business including trade fund negotiations & management, management of brokers and sales personnel, developing customer relations, representing the company at various food and trade shows and submitting reports of results to supervisors. You will be expected to call on and develop relationships with key operators while also working with our partner distributors. Location: Remote home office; must reside in the Dallas, TX area and be within a reasonable commuting distance of a major airport. Duties and Responsibilities: Build sales by motivating brokers and sales representatives, providing training and education, developing and evaluating action plans, evaluating results and brokers and completing administrative functions. Leads the execution of Corporate Distributor growth & development strategies at the local Opsite, OpCo & Division level, including conducting Quarterly Business Reviews and conducting local Joint Business Planning meetings. Increases sales through Corporate & Local distributors by developing long term relationships with key personnel, presenting products and programs, negotiating local distributor programs and promotions, educating the distributor sales force on company products and working food shows. Completes administrative duties by preparing sales reports, approving regional promotions, managing regional deductions, composing written communications to sales force, customers and supervisors and managing broker action plans. Maintains open and frequent communication with existing and targeted customer base by making personal visits, communicating via telephone, written correspondence and email Make cold calls, identify key decision makers and pursue opportunities for CHG product lines Submits samples for current and new product opportunities Identifies new target customers and updates account list semi-annually Focuses on selling CHG Branded Products (all brands) whenever possible using provided selling tools. Clear and direct communication with multiple inter-company departments, especially Foodservice Marketing. Other departments include Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Purchasing, R & D and Culinary. Responsible for annual sales budget for target accounts Works closely with CHG’s Category Marketing and Insights teams to translate market / consumer information into relevant and actionable insights for customers, helping to differentiate CHG as a partner of choice and enhance our right to win new business. Works closely with CHG Procurement team to ensure ongoing commodity knowledge and updates to key customers (e.g., latest trends with wheat, flour, sugar, oils, etc.). Develops thorough understanding of target customer operational capabilities through direct involvement with Customer R&D and restaurant operations. Execute all required administrative work in timely fashion. Increases sales through key operators by identifying and contacting operators, presenting products and developing programs to solidify sales. Manage expenses to budget and submit monthly expense report. Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ of foodservice sales experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Demonstrates leadership and possesses the ability to develop interdepartmental relationships Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers ranging from entry level to executive level positions. Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines. Ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate direction internally and externally Proficient use of computer and related software. Supervisory Responsibilities: Work requires functioning as a lead worker, and includes training, instructing, and scheduling work. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Travel - overnight travel may be required, 2-3 weeks per month to successfully execute the sales plan This role may involve occasional plant visits where exposure to manufacturing environments and the use of personal protective equipment is required.
