Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Wauwatosa, WIReports To: Financial ControllerPosition SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to oversee our general ledger functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions. You will lead the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, and provide the insights necessary to drive business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the closing process, including the preparation of adjusting journal entries, accruals, and deferrals.Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements in accordance with GAAP.Reconciliations: Perform complex monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany balances.Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and provide written or verbal reports on financial trends.External CPA Firm Support: Prepare work papers and documentation for external CPA firm to ensure a smooth review and tax work.Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting workflows and recommend software optimizations and internal controls.Data Driven: Strong desire to implement and maintain business intelligence systems to support all levels of the business. Growth Motivated – A self-starter that is looking for ways to aid in growth and/or efficiency within processes.  Looking to advance career and manage employees.Strategic Sales Partner – Provide strategic insights to sales to increase sales and profitability.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is strictly required.Experience: 3 years of progressive accounting experience (Senior level).Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Office 365.  This includes items in Excel such as pivot tables, data modeling, and macros. Microsoft BI experience is plus but not required.Direct experience with mid-to-enterprise level ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, JD Edwards, Syteline).Familiarity with payroll integration and reporting (e.g., ADP Workforce Now or similar).Knowledge: Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Recommended QualificationsCPA or CMA candidate preferred.Prior experience in project based organizations such as moving, warehousing, or construction. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain "the story behind the numbers" to non-financial stakeholders. Company Structure and BenefitsCH Coakley offers health, vision, dental insurance, supplemental insurance, PTO, paid holidays, as well as a 401(k) including a match component.   We are a flexible work environment, however we are required to be in office 5 days a week.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
