Service Technician – CGL Security

Position Summary
CGL is looking to hire a full-time Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security and video surveillance systems for our customers. You'll join a tight-knit team where senior techs share what they know and new ideas are always welcome.
You'll be provided a take-home service vehicle, work independently in the field, and rotate on-call for after-hours emergencies.

Started in 1998 in an owner's basement and 28 years later, we're still family-run. Two of our three founding owners are still active in the business with no plans to exit any time soon. What You'll Do
- Provide excellent service to every customer, every time
- Respond to service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours calls (on-call rotates approximately every 8 weeks)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems with security, access control, and video systems — repair or replace parts as needed
- Program and configure system software
- Fill out clear, accurate service reports after every job
- Use hand and power tools (drill, wire stripper, crimper, etc.) and work at heights on a ladder or lift when needed
- Represent CGL as the customer's go-to service provider — showing up on time and following through
- 3 years servicing, installing, or programming access control systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
- Previous experience with Software House (required)
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Rare overnight travel may be required.
- Comfortable working at heights and handling hand/power tools as needed
- Able to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision
- Solid communication skills - you'll be dealing directly with customers
- Advanced technical skills related to electronic security and video surveillance systems.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Video: Genetec, American Dynamics
- Access control: Genetec, CCURE, S2
- Intrusion: DSC, Bosch
