CGI is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mainframe Developer who will demonstrate excellent skills in the development, maintenance enhancement of business applications on the Mainframe platform. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with various stakeholders, understanding the requirements, develop the most efficient code and deploy to various environments. Strong communications skills, problem solving skills and knowledge of banking systems is essential for success in this position

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,800.00 - $156,700.00.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Candidate must have an agile mindset; An expert in Scaled Agile delivery model, experienced with agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, spring planning, sprint reviews and sprint demos
- Development, Deployment maintenance, and enhancement of business applications on the Mainframe platform.
- Develop, Deploy and maintain applications written in COBOL, utilizing JCL and DB2 databases.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and code.
- Create and manage DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
- Perform unit testing and participate in system and integration testing to ensure quality.
- Debug and resolve production issues, providing timely fixes and post-implementation support.
- Optimize existing mainframe programs to improve efficiency and reduce CPU time.
- Prepare detailed documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with team members on code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.
- Adhere to best practices in coding and design to ensure compliance and easy maintainability.
- Participate in on-call support rotations for critical systems as needed
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mainframe development.
- Strong skills in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 database management.
- Strong experience with Endevor for automating and controlling the mainframe software development lifecycle, performing tasks like source code versioning, change tracking, authorization, impact analysis, builds, and deployments
- Experience with Mainframe tools such as TSO/ISPF, CICS, and debugging tools.
- Knowledge in Job Scheduling tools such as CA-7.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies.
- Proven ability to write efficient, clean, and documented code.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with change management and version control practices and tools.
- Familiarity with modernization of Mainframe applications or integration with distributed systems.
- Understanding of Mainframe optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of additional Mainframe data management tools and utilities.
