CGI leads a team to support and modernize multiple cloud-based systems supporting multi-agency case management using agile DevSecOps teams. We have built, maintained, and enhanced multiple solutions over the years for our client, deploying to AWS. The client repeatedly calls upon our experienced teams to address the latest challenges using new technology.
To support our growth, we need Java microservices developers that are willing to learn new technologies to enhance the existing systems while gaining an understanding of the client ecosystem. Understanding the importance of test driven development is key to ensure consistent quality as these are mission critical applications."
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office a minimum of two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Work closely with business analysts and subject matter experts to understand requirements and translate to software solutions
- Create and sustain micro-service applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Analyze system logs to perform root-cause analysis of performance or infrastructure issues
- Work with other teams to coordinate integration testing across multiple (more than 3) teams
- Participate in design meetings with other projects and the client's technical specialists
- Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos, and other Agile ceremonies
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required as well as successful passing of CGI background check prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance.
- 5 years of experience in the Information Technology field focusing on Java and Spring Boot development environments
- Experience developing and maintaining micro-services
- Experience deploying applications to AWS
- Experience developing RESTful API-based applications
- Experience with Test-Driven Development
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with software containerization
- Experience developing with JavaScript frameworks such as REACT and Angular
- Experience with AI/ML
