Budget Analyst IV

Position Description

Budget Analyst support is needed for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Project Support Office (RS60) to support the Science and Technology Office (ST)

This is position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Serves as a budget analyst for the Planetary Missions Program Office (ST30)
• Provides strategic budget analysis investigating financial data to provide decision makers with crucial information, ideas, solutions and options for the effective planning and execution of the budget
• Utilizes financial systems to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and effectively communicates and presents budget and workforce status to program management, center management, and HQ customers on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Monitors and tracks budgets including preparing phasing plans, PPBE submits, and cost analyses
• Reviews, analyzes and presents budget and workforce status including detailed variance explanations with impacts and solutions
• Analyze and monitor contract funding status
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to coordinate business activities, make decisions, plan and accomplish goals. Works independently when necessary, with minimal guidance.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers, meeting or exceeding deadlines
• Must possess excellent communication skills and communicate effectively in writing, person to person and in meetings
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, work independently, and be able to maintain confidentiality of data
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Proficient MS Office Applications
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
• Familiar with Power BI
• A knowledge & understanding of automated financial systems and budgetary report generation
  
  

BS/BA plus 6 years or greater of specialized experience in the field or a related area.

HS Diploma plus 8 years or greater of specialized experience in the field or a related area.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

Highly Preferred:

SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other government accounting systems; Government Financial Processes; Knowledge and understanding of government budget process and systems a plus; experience as budget analyst for government agency a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,000.00 - $123,800.00.
