Instructional Designer

Position Description:

The Instructional Designer will design and build digital, simulation-based training materials that allow personnel to safely practice technical maintenance and troubleshooting tasks for a complex military system. This role focuses exclusively on interactive media creation using Adobe Animate, HTML, JavaScript, and supporting tools no prior radar experience is required.

You will transform technical procedures provided by subject matter experts into interactive, step by step digital experiences that visually demonstrate processes and allow user driven practice. The role requires strong multimedia production skills, front end development capability, and an ability to collaborate with engineers and technical personnel.

This position is located in Lawton, OK.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Develop high-quality interactive training modules and simulation-based content using Adobe Animate, HTML, and JavaScript.
. Build tutorial sequences that let users practice complex operations in a safe, controlled digital environment with no risk of physical equipment damage or personal injury.
. Manipulate and prepare visual assets using Adobe Photoshop, including images, text overlays, and diagram refinements.
. Modify and maintain project build scripts using PowerShell to support packaging, deployment, or updates to interactive content.
. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to convert technical steps and workflows into clear, accurate digital interactions.
. Ensure user interfaces, animations, and interactions are intuitive, responsive, and aligned with training objectives.
. Participate in iterative development cycles, incorporating feedback from testers and SMEs.
. Assist in maintaining file structures, media libraries, and version controlled digital assets.
. Be available for limited travel as needed (no current travel expected).
. Work on a team producing interactive media for technical end users in a DoD environment.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Active Secret clearance.
. 2 Hands on experience developing interactive media, simulations, animations, or digital training modules.
. Proficiency with Adobe Animate, HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Photoshop, and familiarity with PowerShell scripting.
. Ability to interpret technical content provided by SMEs and convert it into accurate, step by step interactive experiences.
. Strong communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary technical environment.
. Ability to manage multiple media development tasks in an iterative production pipeline.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Experience producing interactive media for DoD or technical maintenance environments (not required).
. Experience developing simulation based or user practice modules.
. Familiarity with UI/UX best practices for training and technical interfaces.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $46,400.00 $95,700.00.
