The Connecticut General Assembly Senate Democratic Office seeks a temporary, entry-level Video Production Communications Assistant with the potential to transition into a full-time position for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment. The Communications Assistant will work to maintain and expand caucus brand through video content. Works under the supervision of the Communications Director. Work is often performed independently.
- Proficiency in video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Canva Video, or similar platforms. CapCut experience is preferred.
- Experience filming and editing short-form video content for social media.
- Understanding of best practices for video content on platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Ability to take feedback and make timely revisions.
- Interest in public policy, government, or politics
- Flexible schedule, with availability to work at the Capitol in Hartford during business hours and occasionally attend events off-site.
- Ability to operate independently and exercise judgment, as well as the ability to work effectively as a team member.
- This is a temporary position, but there is potential for it to expand into a full-time role based on performance and the needs of the office.
