What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Shop Foreman position at CG Metal Works?
Overview
We are in search of an individual to supervise the day-to-day operations of a small machine, weld and fab shop.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: good written and verbal communications skills with employees, customers and owners. Coordinate and schedule work with employees though the shop. Understand and interpret engineered drawings with the ability to estimate cycle times and quote jobs. Ability to use normal measuring equipment found in a machine/fab shop to check parts per drawings. Create quality manufacturing checks where deemed necessary. Ability to program CNC mills and lathes. Computer skills to include Excel and accounting/QuickBooks experience are a plus, but not a requirement.
We are a small family-owned machine/weld fab shop, originally opened in 1968 and sold to new owners in 2023. New owners have 30 years experience in the retail steel business. We are looking for the right person that is self-motivated and quality conscious who will help us improve our processes and refine how the shop operates. There is a lot of room for growth and we need the right person to assist ownership in directing that path.
Pay will be commensurate with experience. Send resume to Andrew Bradshaw at Andrew@cgmetalsinc.com.
