To perform high-quality finishing on wood and composite surfaces in accordance with CFX Products standards and client specifications. This role supports CFX's commitment to craftsmanship and excellence by ensuring each finished product meets aesthetic and functional expectations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare surfaces for finishing, including sanding, sealing, and cleaning surfaces
- Apply finishes (stains, paints, sealers, lacquers) using spraying, brushing, and wiping techniques.
- Match and blend colors to meet project specifications
- Ensure a smooth, consistent, and high-quality finish on all products.
- Inspect finished pieces for quality and consistency
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and/or specifications.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead, or Production Manger.
- Cross-train and assist in other assembly or production areas when finishing work is not available.
- Perform assembly-type functions to produce cabinets, and/or countertops, using hand or power tools, in order to meet daily production objectives.
- Complete daily production goals as directed by Production Supervisor or Production Lead.
- Required to follow all company Safety Rules and Procedures. (including but not limited to PPE)
- Required to maintain consistent and acceptable attendance according to the assigned schedule provided by the manager as well as the Team Member Handbook.
- Meet departmental goals and defined key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of experience in cabinet finishing or related woodworking field
- Knowledge of various wood types, stains, and finishing techniques
- Ability to operate spray equipment and hand tools with precision
- Experience in a custom cabinet shop or high-end woodworking environment
- Familiarity with water-based and solvent-based finishing systems
- Color matching skills and touch-up experience.
