Staff Accountant

Position: Staff Accountant

Location: Onsite/Hybrid | Battle Creek, MI

Salary: $60,000-$75,000

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization in Battle Creek, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance, and contribute to a company that continues to expand its operations.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
• Assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysis
• Participate in audits and provide requested documentation
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations and other departments to support business objectives
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  
  

Staff Accountant Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
