Our client, a well‑known non‑profit organization in Washington, DC, is seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support their general accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is integral to day‑to‑day accounting operations, month‑end and year‑end close, and maintaining strong internal controls to ensure accurate, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and work closely alongside them as part of a collaborative accounting team of four.
This position is onsite in office 4 days/week, and work from home on Fridays!
Base salary: $90,000-$100,000

- Support daily accounting operations, including month‑end and year‑end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist in preparing and distributing internal and external financial reports.
- Support external audit activities by providing required documentation and information.
- Contribute to maintaining effective internal controls and overall financial integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in non‑profit is a plus, not required.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible, “can‑do” attitude.
