Overview Of The Senior Accountant Role
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare trial balances
- Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll as needed
- The Senior Accountant will support the monthly closing process, including journal entry preparation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Provide financial documentation for banking or regulatory purposes as required
- The Senior Accountant will conduct financial analysis and communicate findings to management
- Review accounts for accuracy, proper recordkeeping, and compliance with budget guidelines
- Organize and maintain company financial records and documentation
- The Senior Accountant will assist with reconciliations, including CAM or other property-related accounts
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and support special projects as assigned
- Perform accurate and timely data entry tasks
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the Controller / CFO
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 1–2 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a smaller firm, with exposure to audit and trial balance preparation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with financial/accounting management systems; experience with ProSystem fx Tax, Yardi, or similar software is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
