What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobility Aide position at CFS Transportation?
CFS Transportation provides non-emergency medical transportation and mobility support for seniors and individuals with medical needs throughout San Diego County. We are currently hiring full-time Mobility Aides who are reliable, compassionate, and ready to serve their community.
This position requires availability Monday–Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
As a CFS Mobility Aide, you are the first point of contact for participants (seniors) who require mobility assistance during scheduled trips to and from San Diego PACE and other assigned destinations. You will coordinate with dispatch and the assigned driver throughout the day and support safe, respectful point-to-point assistance for participants who need extra help navigating from their residence to the vehicle and into reception areas.
This includes knock-on-door greetings; entering the home only as far as the foyer/living room; assisting with transfers (for example, chair-to-wheelchair); accompanying participants to and from the vehicle and to and from the appointment reception desk; assisting with wheelchair/walker support; and helping maintain seat belt compliance during transport. You’ll also provide additional vigilance during trips, help locate participants in complex access areas (such as medical plazas), and complete a warm hand-off to family/caregivers and to provider staff at drop-off.
Mobility Aides at CFS are dependable, patient, and focused on professionalism and customer service. You’ll be helping people access essential care while creating a safe, reassuring experience for every participant.
To be eligible for this position, you must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. A clean background and a commitment to participant safety are required. All Mobility Aides must pass a criminal background check, a TB screening, a drug screening (including testing for marijuana), and a pre-hire physical exam with at least 6 month clearance.
This job requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and the ability to kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods. You must be comfortable working around wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment and be able to communicate clearly with participants, caregivers, drivers, and dispatch. Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Bilingual Spanish or Arabic is a plus.
CFS provides paid training, including training to the applicable San Diego PACE mobility assistance standards for assigned tasks.
CFS offers paid training, medical insurance, vision and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation, paid sick time, and opportunities for overtime.
