Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, Inventory Control Supervisor for our new 500,000-sq-ft distribution center in Savannah, GA—the largest among our facilities nationwide. The Warehouse Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate management of inventory within the warehouse. You will ensure proper cycle counts and conduct regular audits to promote effective inventory control procedures. You will also require you to collaborate with other departments to optimize inventory flow, minimize discrepancies and contribute to the overall efficiency within the distribution center.
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt
Key Responsibilities:
- Rate shopping for LTL, FTL, Parcel, and intermodal.
- Managing the TMS Database.
- Arbitrate and challenge unapproved accessorial charges.
- Quarterly evaluations of carrier performance.
- Stay updated with carrier and logistics trends.
- Booking and scheduling trucks and courier pickups.
- Advise of negative trends, charges, and operations throughout the operation.
- Create carrier competitions to improve rates and drive down costs.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Strong safety mindset with proven experience following and enforcing safety protocols.
- Tier One WMS experience required; Blue Yonder experience is a plus.
- Experience in automated, fast-paced facilities running multiple shifts.
- 3 years of shipping coordination experience in a warehouse setting is required.
- LTL and FTL experience are required.
- Intermediate Excel skills (download data, sort data, identify issues) is required.
- Must possess strong math skills for dimension conversions and space calculations.
- Certified Transportation Brokers (CTB) preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in warehouse shipping or logistics operations.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience leading teams of 20 or more hourly associates.
Work Environment:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Physical requirements may include standing for long periods, walking, bending, pushing, reaching, and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to material handling equipment and high-traffic operational areas.
